From Vision to Vogue: The Birth of Africa Week Europe

Studies has it that Africa Week proper was first celebrated in Paris in 2011. It is the annual flagship event of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) of the Africa Group at UNESCO, a body that brings together the Member States of the African continent. Africa Week includes a kaleidoscope of cultural, scientific, artistic and epicurean events, always in honor of Africa Day (25 May).
Giving the African Contient the Recognition it Deserves
Since 2011, UNESCO, at the beginning of every year, announces the theme for Africa Week for the year, and the African Union does also announce its own theme for Africa Week, which in most cases, attempts to bring home the often generic theme of the UNESCO.
